1. Will my windows still open and close after the Airoseal is installed?
A. Yes everything will work exactly the same as before the installation.

2. My property is listed can I install Airoseal?
A. Yes the system is recognised by Heritage and used by bodies such as The National Trust.

3. What colour does the seal come in?
A. It comes in white, black, translucent and brown plus we offer a crystal clear.

4. Can you match the colour of my windows?
1. Yes we have a totally crystal clear colour and your original colours will reflect through the seal.

5. When should I decorate before or after?
A. If you are going to carry out maintenance or decorating, we recommend you do this prior to the installation of Airoseal.

6. Can I decorate over the sealant?
A. Yes you can, however you need to use oil based paint. Our crystal clear is suited to both painting and varnishing.

7. How do I clean Airoseal?
A. A damp soapy cloth is sufficient as no special cleaning products required.

8. Can I remove Airoseal once it has been installed?
A. Airoseal can be removed by cutting back and then applying a silicone digester to remove the remains. This can be washed after 24 hours. There is no harm to the underlying surface.

9. By installing Airoseal will this save me energy?
A. Yes by turning down your thermostat. In Building Research Establishment tests up to 27% energy savings can be achieved.

10. Will Airoseal work on any fabric?
A. Yes.Airoseal works on any fabric including wood, metal, aluminium, glass and PVC windows.

11. Will I need scaffolding?
A. No .All applications are carried out internally as a no mess no fuss installation. There is no scaffolding or other expensive access equipment required.

12. Does Airoseal give off any harmful smells during installation?
A. No. Whilst there is a slight vinegary odour it is completely harmless and soon disperses within 24 hours. Full COSHH reports are available on request.

13. Are my windows left open or closed?
A. Once Airoseal is applied windows are left in a closed position: sliding sash is opened by our operatives after 4 hours, casements/pivots and doors are normally opened after a 2 hour period if required.

14. I live on a busy noisy road; will this help dampen the sound?
A. Yes. Once installed the seal can reduce the noise levels by up to 10db of city traffic noise.

15. I work long hours and it is hard to take time off work. Is there a surcharge for working outside normal working hours?
A. No. We offer a 24 hour/7 day per week service at a single flat rate. All we require is a minimum of six hours on site with works undertaken on consecutive days.

16. Can I fit Airoseal myself?
A. No. Since the Airoseal process is a specialised service we only offer supply and fit.

17. Do you have a guarantee if so how long?
A. Yes. We have a five year unconditional guarantee which covers labour and materials.

18. Why do you only give a five year guarantee when it has a life in excess of 15 years plus?
A. The 5 year guarantee is well above industry standard. However the system has been tested by Ofgem and is proven to last for 15 years plus.

19. Are there any cases when Airoseal will not work?
A. Yes on bare timber which we need to prime and where there is no rebate such as a revolving or swing door.

20. Can you apply Airoseal to rotting frames?
A. Yes we can, by cleaning out and priming the bad areas. When installed Airoseal will extend the life of the frame as it protect the fabric from the elements once applied to a rebate section.

21. On a sliding sash window, will it stick or be more difficult to open?
A. There will be a minor tensioning of around 5% which will not affect the windows operation.

22. Is Airoseal affected by seasonal changes in temperature?
A. Sometimes windows may be a little tighter in the winter when the timbers swell. However this is the time of year when the windows are more likely to remain closed.

23. Will the friction cause wear and tear on the silicon on a box sash, thus reducing its effectiveness?
A. No our system is well tried and tested over the last twenty years and have Govt bodies who have checked and verified the use and life time qualities

24. Does Airoseal cause condensation?
A. It will not aid condensation as long as the heating regime is set correctly and the room is used in the same way. It can be said that by using a sealing system reductions in the infiltration of moisture in the air at certain times of the year will be achieved.

25. Will Airoseal affect my ventilation?
A. No.Airoseal does not take ventilation away it merely gives controlled as opposed to uncontrolled ventilation.

26. Can it be applied to fire doors?
A. We never sell this as a fire rated seal for doors, and can be used as a draught seal for fire doors as it will not interfere with the intermission strip.

27. How do you dispose of it? What is the impact on the environment?
A. It is suffice to say that the product does not harm the environment and far outweighs in terms of the carbon emissions it saves.

28. Do your operatives comply with health & safety legislation?
A. Yes all our operatives attend government recognised courses such as CITB, Asbestos awareness and first aid and work with health and safety in mind.

29. Are your operatives CRB cleared?
A. All our operatives, surveyors and sales consultants are CRB cleared.

30. I have antiques and priceless art, will the ascetic acid affect them?
A. No as we can ensure enough air changes.
